Prateek Haldar
Prateek Haldar
began learning the sitar at age 13 from Ud. Hamid Hossain .He quickly
became quite proficient at this difficult instrument, earning awards and concertising throughout the United
States, Canada
and India; including at
only age 17, a prestigious concert for Ustad Ali
Akbar Khan's 75th Birthday Jubilee in San
Francisco. After taking a break from sitar while
attending college, he resumed intensive training in 2002 under world renowned
master sitarist Ustad Shujaat Khan. Prateek has since performed alongside Shujaat
Khansahib in numerous concerts throughout the United States. In 2006, Prateek
was given the honor as the opening artist for the annual Chhandayan
All Night Concert in Manhattan.
