Pt. Narendra Kanekar Pt Narendra Kanekar specializes in Gwaliar, Agra and Jaipur, the three principal Gharanas of Hindustani vocal music. He was trained in his childhood by Pt. Manohar Barwe of Gwaliar Gharana, later by Pt. Dattatraya Vishnu Kane (or, Kane Bua) of Agra Gharana and by Pt. Ratnakar Pai of Jaipur Gharana. He is a class 'A Plus' artist on AIR and TV. Recently he was honored with the Balkrishnabua Puraskar. He sings and has in depth understanding of Anwat Raagas. He currently has several students whom he trains in Guru-Shishya discipline. |
